Head of Software Technologies (SWT) Research Group - Chair, Software Engineering and Programming Languages (since April 2009)
Prof. Lüttgen is in the process of establishing this new research group since becoming a Full Professor (and Lehrstuhlinhaber) at the Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences, University of Bamberg, Germany.
"Modern Languages Teaching Centre" Liaison Officer (since April 2016)
The "Sprachenzentrum" (Modern Languages Teaching Centre) Liaison Officer represents the interests of the Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences within the Board of Bamberg University's Modern Languages Teaching Centre (Sprachenzentrum).
"Fakultätentag Informatik" Liaison Officer (since October 2012)
The "Fakultätentag Informatik" Liaison Officer represents the interests of the Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences within the German Association of Computer Science Departments (Fakultätentag Informatik).
BSc SoSySc Course Organiser (since April 2012)
The BSc SoSySc Course Organiser manages the undergraduate degree BSc Software Systems Science. Specific responsibilities range from course planning, to implementing decisions by the Fakultätsrat, to marketing.
Member of the Examination Board "Computer Science & Applied Computer Science" (since October 2011)
The Examination Board "Computer Science & Applied Computer Science" (Prüfungsausschuss Informatik und Angewandte Informatik) of the Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences proposes and monitors regulations for the faculty's degree courses in computer science and applied computer science.

The Fakultätsrat of the Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences debates and decides on various aspects regarding the faculty's resource management and its degree programmes.
Dean of the Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computes Sciences (October 2013 - September 2015)
The Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computes Sciences at the University of Bamberg, Germany, comprised at the time 15 professors and their research groups, as well as more than 1200 students.
Member of the Standing PhD Committee (October 2013 - September 2015)
The Standing PhD Committee (Ständiger Promotionsausschuss) of the Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences proposes and monitors regulations for the faculty's PhD programme.
Director of the LSCITS Engineering Doctorate Centre (April 2008 - March 2009, University of York)
This Engineering Doctorate (EngD) programme is part of the UK's national research and training initiative in the science and engineering of Large-Scale Complex IT Systems (LSCITS) - a collaboration between the Universities of Bristol, Leeds, Oxford, St Andrews and York. The £4.1m EngD programme officially commenced in April 2008, with a first intake of students (Research Engineers) in April 2009. Dr. Lüttgen has also been the lead developer of this programme since February 2007.
MScSWE Course Organiser (January 2005 - August 2007, University of York)
The MScSWE Course Organiser manages the Advanced MSc in Software Engineering degree course. Specific responsibilities range from course planning, to implementing decisions by the Masters Teaching Committee, to arranging course schedules, to marketing.
The MScSWE Course Organiser is a member of the Masters Teaching Committee.
Staff Handbook Editor (July 2003 - August 2006, University of York)
The Staff Handbook Editor is responsible for coordinating and editing the yearly production of the Academic Staff Handbook. This handbook outlines the organisation of the Department, as well as its administrative and teaching procedures. It is required for various audits and a key instrument for disseminating and managing information in the Department.
The Staff Handbook Editor is a member of the Departmental Information Committee.
Graduate Studies Publicity Coordinator (January 2004 - August 2005, University of York)
The Graduate Publicity Coordinator is responsible for the production and distribution of publicity materials for recruiting graduate students, especially research students. This includes the Department's entry in the University Graduate Prospectus, the Research Topics for Graduate Students' document, and the Research Group Flyers.
The Graduate Studies Publicity Coordinator is a member of the Departmental Graduate Studies Committee.
MScSWE Course Staff Representative (October 2003 - December 2004, University of York)
The MScSWE Course Staff Representative liaises with the Student Representative for the Advanced MSc in Software Engineering degree course in order to detect and solve day-to-day problems in the running of the course. The Staff Representative is also a member of the Masters Teaching Committee.
Member of the Quality Assurance Working Group (October 2003 - March 2004, University of York)
The Quality Assurance Working Group compiles and edits various documents in preparation for Full Reviews by the University Teaching Committee, QAA Audits, and Accreditation Visits by the British Computer Society and the Institute of Electrical Engineers.
Director of Undergraduate Admissions (September 2001 - December 2002, University of Sheffield)
The Director of Undergraduate Admissions oversees and supervises a four-person team. He is responsible for organising and conducting Departmental open days, promoting undergraduate courses, corresponding with prospective students, as well as advising the Department on strategic issues and on course and curriculum development.
Undergraduate Admissions Tutor (September 2000 - August 2001, University of Sheffield)
The Undergraduate Admissions Tutor processes UCAS application forms and corresponds with prospective undergraduate students.
